ASMC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government of Nigeria, establishing a strategic partnership for the domestic manufacturing of National Identity Smart Cards.

The agreement covers the end-to-end production lifecycle — from chip embedding and module assembly through to card personalisation and issuance — all conducted within ASMC's secure Abuja facilities.

Strategic Importance

This partnership marks a significant milestone in Nigeria's drive toward technology sovereignty. By producing identity documents locally, the country reduces exposure to foreign supply chain disruptions and protects sensitive citizen data within national borders.

Implementation Timeline

Pilot production batches are expected to begin within the first quarter, with full-scale rollout aligned to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) deployment schedule.
